Before and After Examples from Creative Retoucher John Deaville

Creative Retoucher samples from some of my projects. I am currently updating this section to include before and after sliders. I am also adding  quicktime animations showing stages of the retouching process.

This image was used for The World Olypics hosted in Abu Dhabi. The original brief was to retouch and cutout a number of individuals and teams and supply in order to incorporate into the event’s artwork. I was also asked to create some backgrounds to use for the above plus another angle of the same athlete. To create this image I manipulated the imge by:

• retouching athlete as per client instructions, clean skin, remove badges etc…
• created basic 3D stadium shape plus rigging using Cinema 4D
• added the crowds using a number of stock images
• added the stadium floodlight, rigging lights and photo flashes using custom created photoshop brushes
• added the mist effect with custom made photoshop brushes. This makes the main figure stand out
• I created highlights on her hands, hijab, shoulders and hands to emulate light coming from the stadium floodlights. Also the shadows on teh floor for the same reason
